    “Heat” International Call For Writers by ArtAscent – Deadline February 29, 2016

    | Theme:
    Heat can mean warmth, passion, anger, excitement, a spicy quality, pressure from authorities, and a hot day. It can be expressed in symbolic, literal, modern, traditional, abstract, and completely unique ways. What heat can your imagination create?
     
    | Eligible Submissions:
    Entries may include fiction, poetry, short stories and other written explorations (up to 900 words). Previously published or unpublished are eligible. Submissions must be the original work of the applicant(s). Open to international writers. Apply using the online form.
     
    | Highlights:
    The Gold writer will be featured in the ArtAscent Art & Literature Journal complete with an artist profile review written by our art writer. Up to seven writers in total will be published in ArtAscent Art & Literature Journal; showcased, along with website links, in an online exhibition on the ArtAscent website for at least two years; and, promoted on the ArtAscent Facebook and Twitter feeds.

    The mission of ArtAscent is to promote artists of images and words, and connect them with art lovers. This is accomplished by calls for artists and writers, artist profiling, art magazine publication, and artist and writer online showcasing. Each call is theme based, with the intent to showcase diverse creative explorations of that theme via various media.

    The Applicant owns the Content. You represent and warrant that: (i) you own or otherwise have the right to grant the licenses set forth in this section for the Content that you provide to ArtAscent, post on our website or other online spaces, or provide for our print services to have them printed in a magazine, and (ii) your Content does not violate the privacy rights, publicity rights, copyright rights, or other rights of any person or entity.

    In order for ArtAscent to be able to provide you with our Services, you hereby agree to provide us with the following licenses to use your Selected Work:
     
    License to print your Selected Work. You hereby grant to ArtAscent a non-exclusive, worldwide and royalty-free license (a “License”) to reproduce and distribute your Selected Work for the purpose of printing publications and for any other related purpose that you authorize. You agree that ArtAscent reserves the right to maintain the electronic files for any Submitted Work to fulfill any further orders which may be placed for such publication and the Services, and to maintain an archival copy of the printed magazine.
     
    The Applicant grants to ArtAscent a License to reproduce, distribute, publicly display, use, and otherwise make available throughout the world the Submitted Work, including in actions required for the delivery of calls, publication, announcements and marketing. Applicants agree that ArtAscent may feature their submitted work for display, marketing, promotions, and exhibition archives, including ArtAscent publications, directories, websites, and social spaces. We will credit each artist with their name, artwork title and media, website, photographer credit, and gallery if requested. We may feature submitted Themed Call images, framed, in the Investors Tips section with the artist’s name and website, independently of the general call selections.
     
    You represent and warrant that you ARE the author of your Content (including your Selected Work) and, in any case, that you bear the full and ultimate responsibility for the publication and distribution of your Content (including your Selected Work).
