I do not know how so much bad writing gets made into movies. There is even a second movie “Hot Tub Time Machine 2” I am totally clueless about what standards the general public will except as good reading or movie entertainment. I find it hard to dumb down my writing to fit a market and will not. If If I must write stupid material to get published then I will quit writing.

I was just rejected by a publisher that liked my story but, as he said “It just doesn’t met our needs.”. I though creative writing was all that publishers need.
