In the season of sickness
the days of fever and coldness
hunger ruling and farms growing boldness
The woman who was abandoned by her parents
adopted by the love of the woods
raised by the bright lights of the moons
grew up alone in an old scary house built with wood
She learned the languages spoken by the animals
her attire so strange as she used no modern materials.
Is she African?
She is an Orphan
A woman so beautiful
surrounded by creatures as her community
but loneliness made her life painful
all she ever wanted was something so wonderful
but what she never knew was that she was developing something so sorrowful
A life without parents, no-one to talk to,she knew she was an Orphan
days without time,months without dates passed by
as she still desired for her loneliness to pass by
sooner the woods were surprised by
the strange manly presence of an intruder
a hunter,a man with 12 sisters and no brother
She is still an Orphan
the sun was crying to set
the Hunter desperate for a catch
but fortunately his eyes got a catch
Her face coloured by the red sunset light
her beauty penetrating his eyes tight
two hearts were beating in a fight
her heart was sweating with joy, that she’s no longer an Orphan
Days with dates, months with love passed
abandoned by her own parents
she thought she now found a new family
they treated her with love,aiming she will bring an heir in the family
he promised them that his beloved shall give them an heir
Is she still an Orphan?
she was in pains,but a lot of hope
she knew those were Labour pains
this might wipe away her title “orphan” forever
surrounded by elders and her in-laws
she is about to bring life to earth
Something she never heard before
something she thought she’ll never hear
a first sound of her first baby’s cry
she smiled, with her hopes still high
Is she still an Orphan?
their reaction revealed hatred and anger
as she lifted her head
she saw a small,beautiful,little baby girl
as she smiled and carried her
few seconds later they were left alone in the room
few minutes later, her beloved entered the room
with a sad, disappointed, angry face
sooner the elders and in-laws were present as well
As her heart was beating fast with tears falling from her eyes
her feet shaking as if she walked in ice
their faces didn’t look so nice
that’s when she got rejected
her feelings neglected
they kicked her out,with nothing but only her rejected baby girl
she then knew and admitted that she is not just cursed
but she is and will forever be an Orphan
In the raining cold day
with no place where the head can stay
under a tree shaking in the wind’s way
she looked in her crying baby’s eye
she looked to the heavens
while the rain was washing away her tears
penetrating her eyes
she shouted”I am really an Orphan”
she looked at her daughter said
“truth be told, you are a daughter of an Orphan”
on that day
the baby was named
“An Orphan of an Orphan ”
